7 Simple Things to Make Your Relationship Much Stronger and Long-Lasting

Every one of us has a dream that we would like to attain someday. It can be driving your dream car, owning your dream house, having your dream job or marrying your dream boy or girl. To achieve this, you must work really hard to reach your dream, and just as importantly, to sustain it once you do. Like how you will pay the monthly or annual dues for your dream car and dream house, or how you'll build a nurturing relationship with the person you want to be with.

You can ask for help from your friends or family to maintain a happy life. You can also ask professional help from a financial or relationship counselor. You can ask around for third opinions by chatting with spiritual readers. But how do you work to maintain a relationship with someone you know is your endgame? How complicated can it be?

Here Are 7 Simple Things to Make Your Relationship Much Stronger and Longer-Lasting

Today, we have listed some of the things you can do to live a very happy life and have a stronger relationship with a long-lasting partner.

Surprise your partner as often as you can

Even when you thought you have married the person of your dreams, there will be a point in your life when everything will seem dull and boring. Your relationship may not be as exciting as it was when you started, so one of the things you can do is surprise your partner, even with the smallest things. It can be a new recipe that you have learned or a movie that you think is awesome. For guys, you can surprise your beloved with flowers, chocolates or a new book. You can also surprise your partner with a small gathering of their closest friends or family members. It can also be as intimate as preparing a bath, complete with aroma therapy candles and soothing music, to calm their nerves after a long hard day of working.

Communication is key

We sometimes forget to tell our beloved how much they mean to us, so make sure to convey your feelings towards them as often as you possibly can. It can come through a simple post-it of endearment, or an "I love you" before you head to work. It can be a random message or phone call in the middle of the day just to remind them that you care. Always make sure to talk when there is conflict to avoid making it into a huge fight. Try to settle all your qualms before you go to bed. It is always better to wake up with a smile than to wake up with grudges from the conflict you had the previous night.

Never compare

Sure, you might have great memories from a previous relationship, but that does not mean that you have to compare. Everything with your current relationship is a new experience, so just enjoy the ride. We tend to compare our lives to others, like how their cars are nicer than what you are driving, how big and modern their new home is, and how their job pays much better than what you currently have. The grass is not always greener on the other side. Happy couple knows that they don’t have to stray far just to know that the grass in their front door is always, always the best that they will ever have.

Great sex, great life

Sex is an important ingredient for you to cultivate a long-lasting relationship. This is the most intimate you can be with your partner and the most vulnerable you can be with each other. Keep your sex life alive because if you happen to do it less, you might feel a slight disconnection from your partner. There are books that are handy if you would like to spice up your sex life just a little bit.

Enjoy quality time with each other

In the world that we live in, there are times that you will not see eye to eye with each other. It might be because both of you are busy with your jobs. Try to spend more quality time with each other. It does not have to be a huge amount of time so long as you know that you are doing it for each other. You may each have lives outside of the relationship, but it is important to know that the two of you are still spending quality time together. It can be as simple as watching television series or old movies together, or just having an intimate dinner away from the hustle and bustle of work.

Appreciate the simple things

She learned a new recipe? He fixed the shower head? She helped you with choosing your outfit? He mowed the lawn? These are some of the things that your partner may do on a normal, day-to day basis. Show your appreciation by giving then a sweet peck on the cheek, a breakfast in bed or a flower you have picked in your garden. We often forget to let them know that they are appreciated. The least that we can do is to thank them even in the simplest way that we know how.

Do something crazy

It can range from something simple like a dish that the two of you hate, to something extreme like riding an ultra-fast rollercoaster or bungee-jumping. Try to do something new as often as you can. With these adventures, your partner may associate your moments together with a feeling of excitement, leading them to develop a more intense and powerful connection with you. Not only can you get to do something crazy, but these acts can also make them fall deeper in love with you.

Trust and love take time and effort, but if you know that you are together in this journey, surely, the way towards a healthy and loving relationship won’t be that hard.

4 Signs You've Found a Kindred Spirit, Not a Soulmate

Spirituality exists beyond words — to a dimension where language can only hint at deeper truths. Any words used to attempt to describe or explain it will always be poor translations because words often fall short when describing spiritual experiences. It's like trying to capture the ocean's vastness in a photograph. It might show its surface but there's no replacement for the direct experience of reality.

On Defining Spiritual Connections

Throughout history, people have tried to capture extraordinary experiences and spiritual connections through language. Terms like soulmates, twin flames, and kindred spirits attempt to describe these non-ordinary bonds. Yet these labels are merely signposts that point to something mysterious and won't fully capture it.

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his parents Randi and Pat
Archive

Make no mistake about it: Patrick Mahomes is the face of the NFL. The Tyler, Texas native is the son of Pat Mahomes, a former Major League Baseball player, and Randi Martin.

He burst onto the scene in 2018 when he made history by throwing 50 touchdown passes and 5,000 yards in a single season — a record he shares with Peyton Manning. He followed up his initial success by leading the Kansas City Chiefs to an incredible victory at Super Bowl LIV. If that wasn’t enough, he carried the team through to yet another Super Bowl the very next year, though they ended up losing to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Mahomes has gone to two more Super Bowls since and he's won back-to-back titles (2023 and 2024).
