Jimmy Valvano - Keep Your Dreams Alive

Former college basketball player and coach Jimmy Valvano explains the importance of enjoying every moment in life, while letting yourself feel every emotion that comes along the way.

Transcript:

"Now I'm fighting cancer. Everybody knows that. People ask me all the time about how you go through your life and how's your day. Nothing has changed for me. To me, there are three things we all should do everyday. We do this everyday of our life. You're going, "Well wonderful." Number one is laugh. You should laugh everyday. Number two is think. You should spend some time in thought. Number three is you should have your emotions moved to tears. It could be happiness or joy. Think about it. If you laugh, you think, and you cry, that's a full day. That's a heck of a day. I just got one last thing I urge all of you, all of you, to enjoy your life, the precious moments you have, to spend each day with some laughter and some thought, to get your emotions going, to be enthusiastic everyday. Ralph Waldo Emerson said, "Nothing great can be accomplished without enthusiasm to keep your dreams alive in spite of problems, whatever you have."
