“It’s My Turn to Take Care of You Now” - Single Mom Breaks Down After Son Surprises Her With Incredible Gift

Hard work and perseverance helped Mecole Hardman Jr. reach the NFL. But he couldn't have done it without one very special person.

Mecole Hardman Jr. was the 56th pick in the 2019 NFL draft. And oh, what a season it was. His team, the Kansas City Chiefs, went on to win the Super Bowl.

But as Hardman's career took off, he never forgot who helped him get to that point.

Grateful son buys mom a house

On Twitter, Hardman shared a video dedicated to his mom, Danyell.

“I been dreaming of buying my mama a house since I was 8 and now to finally do it words can’t explain how happy I am. I love you ma x1000000000," he said.

It’s my turn to take care of you now.

'Blessed' to have a son like this

In the video, friends, family, and a gorgeous house await Danyell, who arrives at the scene blindfolded.

When she takes the blindfold off, she is speechless and starts to cry.

"Let 'em flow. Let 'em flow. This is worth crying about, trust me," Danyell's friend told her.

When asked how she feels about the gesture, Danyell was extremely grateful to have raised a son who'd do this for his mother.

“I’m just blessed,” she said.

It makes you feel good as a mother to know that your kids would go to this depth. And he’s smart, making sure you know you did good. He’s smart enough to even put something on like this and give stuff like this to them.

“I feel good, man,” added Mecole. “I am glad to get it out of the way and get her a home that she’s going to be staying in. So it’s a good feeling, and I’m ready to get this furniture here and get her moved in.”

Thanks, mom

At the end of the day, achieving your dreams is up to you. But that doesn't mean you did it alone.

Mecole realized how much Danyell helped him on his journey to the NFL and graciously gave her a beautiful house.

That isn't to say we all need to buy our moms a house, but we must be grateful for all that they did — and continue to do — for us.
