Bride Is Sad Her Mom Will Never Meet Her Future Husband - Then Falls In Love With This Man

Sometimes fate throws us a weird but welcome twist.

Losing someone you love is never easy, and grief hits us at unexpected times. However, one of the hardest things about losing a loved one is knowing the future events and celebrations they will miss and knowing they physically won’t be by your side.

After losing her mother, one woman resigned herself to the sad idea that her late parent would never know her future husband. But then she fell in love with someone unexpected…

Planning the Big Day

@heykellyellen

I still can’t believe this is our love story ❤️ It’s been one year since we got engaged! I know my Mom is with us every step of the way. I know many of you can relate to losing someone special to you and wishing they were here to celebrate a wedding, graduation, or birthday. I’m right there with you! Can’t wait to do more wedding planning this year and share it all! ❤️ ##engagement##engagementphotos##engagementshoot##proposal##proposalstory##grief##motherhood##motherlessdaughter##couple##couplegoals##couples

An influencer named Kelly Ellen often shares stories about becoming a doctor, life on the job, and advice on how to get into medical school. But in early May, she changed up her usual TikTok posts by sharing something personal: it had been a full year since she’d gotten engaged.

Kelly celebrated the anniversary with a throwback video of her fiancé proposing by the water. She also shared the heartwarming story behind the person she planned on marrying.

You see, according to Kelly, whenever she thought about her wedding day in the past, it was with a touch of sadness. Her mother had passed away when she was 16 years old, and she couldn’t help but think about how her mom would never meet the man she would marry.

A Life Twist

Of course, life can work in funny and unexpected ways. And when Kelly did finally meet someone she could see herself spending the rest of her life with, it ended up being someone her mom had met: the son of her late mom’s best friend.

So, not only had her mom known her daughter’s future husband, but she had known him quite well when he was a kid. Kelly even shared a photo of herself and her future husband as kids, posing for a photo together and holding hands.

“I know my mom is with us every step of the way,” Kelly wrote. “I know many of you can relate to losing someone special to you and wishing they were here to celebrate a wedding, graduation, or birthday. I’m right there with you!”

Gone But Not Forgotten

Life is full of unexpected twists. Some of them are good, some are bad. But life also has a funny way of bringing things full circle, as this story shows. Losing someone you love is devastating and hard. But the most healing thing of all is finding ways to honor that person’s memory and remembering all of the good times you had with them.

No one knows how long they have to live this life or when life as we know it may change drastically. But by talking about loved ones who have passed, sharing their stories, and remembering and practicing the lessons they taught us, we can always carry a piece of them with us for the rest of our lives.
