Server Notices Man With Cerebral Palsy Struggling to Eat - Drops Everything To Help Him Enjoy His Meal

One server stepped out of his way to help create an amazing experience for a customer in need.

Sometimes it’s a single moment of compassion in an unexpected way or place that reminds us of the good inside all of us, and the way that we can have an impact on someone's life in a way that they will remember forever.

One such moment happened when Lee Bondurant of Raleigh, North Carolina, went out for dinner on Memorial Day weekend. Lee, who has cerebral palsy, a medical condition that causes him some difficulty with using his hands.

The meal, which he enjoyed with his mother at 42nd St. Oyster Bar in Raleigh, took a beautiful turn when the server offered to take the time to feed Lee with his own hands.

An unexpected offer

The server wasn’t looking for attention, but Lee’s mom was touched by his kindness and wanted the world to know about him. Linda Bondurant-Snow, Lee’s mom, told ABC News she was trying to feed both herself and her son at the same time, and the server noticed she was struggling. The waiter, who uses the name Five, offered to help.

"He casually came over and asked Lee if he had ever had oysters. Lee told him he had not. So, [Five] asked [if he] could he serve him his first. It was smooth not to embarrass Lee. Just offering [to] share in the experience," she recalled.

Lee toldKGO-TV that he usually rather do things himself and not ask for help, but he was so touched by the kindness of the server that he let his guard down.

"That was the ultimate kindness he showed me. I really appreciate what he did, an act of kindness," he said.

For a total stranger to come up really touches a mother's heart, especially when your child is special needs.

A friendship for life

The server's selfless act is what motivated Linda to share the story on Facebook. "When you dine at 42nd Street Oyster Bar please ask for a server by the name of 'Five.' He saw me trying to eat and help Lee. He insisted on helping, showing Lee total respect. Let me know there are still decent and compassionate people left in our country."

This heartwarming story brought Lee and Five, two strangers into an unexpected friendship. They met again about a month later for Lee’s birthday, returning to the 42nd Street Oyster Bar, making it a complete circle moment.

Make no mistake about it: Patrick Mahomes is the face of the NFL. The Tyler, Texas native is the son of Pat Mahomes, a former Major League Baseball player, and Randi Martin.

He burst onto the scene in 2018 when he made history by throwing 50 touchdown passes and 5,000 yards in a single season — a record he shares with Peyton Manning. He followed up his initial success by leading the Kansas City Chiefs to an incredible victory at Super Bowl LIV. If that wasn’t enough, he carried the team through to yet another Super Bowl the very next year, though they ended up losing to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Mahomes has gone to two more Super Bowls since and he's won back-to-back titles (2023 and 2024).
