The Tyler, Texas native is the son of Pat Mahomes, a former Major League Baseball player, and Randi Martin. He burst onto the scene in 2018 when he made history by throwing 50 touchdown passes and 5,000 yards in a single season — a record he shares with Peyton Manning. Womans First Job Was to Scrub Toilets at McDonalds - Now, She Owns 12 Restaurants

Tanya Hill-Holliday is a familiar name in the McDonald's franchise. But she wasn't always. "I was told I wasn't supposed to be here, I was called every name BUT my name," she told CBS News.Luckily, she didn't listen. Now, she's the proud owner of a dozen McDonald's restaurants in Pennsylvania and her story of perseverance is inspiring others to dream big. From Scrubbing Toilets to Making History as Philly’s First Black Woman to Own a McDonald’sTanya Hill-Holliday landed her first job working as a part-time crew member at McDonald's while attending Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland. She was cleaning toilets, scrubbing baseboards, and wiping tables. It was far from glamorous. But that didn't matter, she enjoyed it anyway. "I always enjoyed what I was doing, as difficult as it was to be told, 'You got to clean a table, you got to clean the toilets, you got to scrub the baseboards." "'You got to do...' I did it."Tanya Hill-Holliday via CBS PhiladelphiaUpon graduating from university with a degree in management, she immediately jumped into the McDonald's management trainee program. She's never looked back. From there, she crawled her way up the corporate ladder, from crew member to supervisor to assistant manager to vice president. Despite being constantly told she didn't belong, she ignored the haters, put her head down, and just kept on working. It paid off. She's Lovin' It!Forty-four years and 13 positions later, Holliday is now the proud owner of a dozen restaurants. Using her stock options, she bought her very first franchise in 2005. Today, it's worth over $1.5 million. Not only was it her first restaurant, it was a first in the Philly history books. She is recognized as the very first African American woman to own and operate a McDonald’s in the “City of Brotherly Love.” Since then, she's purchased 11 more restaurants. Currently, she has more than 600 employees, some of whom have been with her from day one. She considers them all family. And now, she's giving back. She serves as the National Black McDonald’s Operators Association Chair and CEO of 168 entities across the U.S. According to its website, the NBMOA is "the largest organization of established African American entrepreneurs in the world."As the Chair and CEO, Holliday is committed to ensuring that "McDonald’s fully engages the African American community in an authentic, respectful, and positive manner." She plans to implement new and innovative programming to enrich the members and benefit the communities they serve. Never Give up on Your DreamsHolliday hopes her journey will inspire young people just starting out on theirs. "When you think you've hit a brick wall, go over the wall, go around the wall — if you gotta go under the wall — do what you have to do but just don't let roadblocks stop you. Keep persistent. Be strong."Tanya Hill-HollidayA little praying doesn't hurt either."Stay motivated, stay encouraged, stay prayed up. I stay prayed up all the time," Holliday added. With sheer perseverance and tenacity, Holliday proved her critics wrong. Not only that, but she went all the way, rising to the top AND making history. Not bad for a woman who started by scrubbing toilets. Her story is an inspiration to all of us. A trailblazer and a role model for aspiring entrepreneurs, she proves that determination, resilience, and the refusal to give up can lead to achieving even our wildest dreams. English Teacher Turns Classroom Into a Dictatorship - But the Students Refused to Be Silenced

*This story originally appeared on Diana Leygerman's Medium.Diana Leygerman is a high school school teacher with teaching methods that her students are sure to never forget — she's just going about it in the most unconventional way. This Pennsylvania teacher turned her classroom into a "dictatorship."She wanted to teach her students a lesson, but to her surprise, the students became the teacher instead. They Were Reading 1984, Then They Were Living ItIn her detailed blog post on Medium, Leygerman chronicles one insane school-wide "simulation" that had a surprising outcome.Every year, Leygerman takes teaching English Lit to a whole new level. Some of us may be familiar with George Orwell's classic novel 1984. It's been taught in the American school system for over 55 years — and in these times of TikTok surveillance and political unrest, it may be more relevant than ever!vfutscher/Flickr In short, 1984 is a book about a society where the government watches and controls everything. Winston, the main character, challenges this control but faces harsh consequences. It explores themes of surveillance and the dangers of too much government power. But instead of just lecturing her students about oppression, Leygerman did something so much better. She decided to show them."If You See Something Say Something"Diana Leygerman / Medium"Every year, before I teach 1984 to my seniors, I run a simulation. Under the guise of “the common good,” I turn my classroom into a totalitarian regime; I become a dictator."Diana Leygerman, MediumLeygerman went on to explain exactly how she implements this new regime. How This Teacher Got Students to Turn On Each OtherWhen it came to designing the experiment, Leygerman is not leaving any stone unturned."I hang posters with motivational quotes and falsified statistics, and provide a false narrative for the problem that is “Senioritis.” I tell the students that in order to help them succeed, I must implement strict classroom rules. They must raise their hand before doing anything at all, even when asking another student for a pencil. They lose points each time they don’t behave as expected. They gain points by reporting other students. If someone breaks the rule and I don’t see it, it is the responsibility of the other students to let me know. Those students earn bonus points. I tell students that in order for this plan to work they must “trust the process and not question their teachers.” This becomes a school-wide effort. The other teachers and admin join."In the new world order, snitches don't get "stitches;" they get gold stars and big promotions.Raising your hand to borrow a pencil?!She really goes the extra mile to make students feel like they are living in a dictatorship — and her approach could not be more clever! But that doesn't mean it was effective. The Students Started an Uprising! For the first time ever, Leygerman was thrilled to report this was first Senior Class who were not prepared to "take it lying down."Yes, there were the usual suspects who were quick to fall in line — following the rules religiously and reporting other students for breaking them! But even under "Big Brother's" watchful eye, a few students began forming a resistance...and then more students joined them."By day two of the simulation, the students were contacting members of administration, writing letters, and creating protest posters. They were organizing against me and against the admin. They were stomping the hallways, refusing to do as they were told."Diana Leygerman, MediumIt's safe to say if Leygerman was trying to get her message across? Mission accomplished. But taking a closer look...it may seem like Ms. Diana Leygerman had a secret mission all along, that we didn't see coming.“Senioritis” Didn’t Stand a ChanceIf you're not familiar with the term "senioritis", the definition is pretty simple (and hilarious).Joe C/Urban DictionaryBasically, the term pokes fun at the declining motivation students suffer in their Senior Year of high school. But with her creative and immersive approach to teaching, Diana Leygerman did the unthinkable. She wasn't just able to get 1984's message across, but she was also able to pull these students out of their senioritis funk! When We Have Purpose, We Can Do AnythingDiana Leygerman's story is an much-needed reminder that we all need purpose in our lives. No matter what direction our efforts are pointed in — when we are goal setting and working with others? These things have the power to re-energize us more than we know. When we are engaged with the immediate world around us, it becomes a habit that's hard to break.Yes, it starts with us. But the more we move outside of ourselves, the more motivated we are to better the lives of not just those around us — but those we may never even meet!Leygerman's Hopeful Message:"Teenagers are ignited, spirited, and take no prisoners. Do not squander their fight; they really are our future. Do not call them entitled; that entitlement is their drive and their passion. Do not get in their way: they will crush you. Foster their rebellion. They are our best allies."More from Goalcast:

Man Takes $800 From Vacation Fund Without Telling His Wife - Then Reveals What He Did With It Over Text

*Featured image contains photo by Matilda Wormwood Money can be a big issue in a marriage and is something that couples should talk about frequently in order to be on the same page. Otherwise, hidden financials and spending could lead to resentment or stress. It’s important to be in agreement on how you spend that money, especially if you’re thinking about making a big purchase. So a man named James was taking a big risk when he removed $800 from his vacation fund without telling his wife. Luckily, she had the best reaction when he told her why. A Surprise Text An anonymous woman decided to share a story from her marriage on Imgur one day, posting a screenshot of a conversation with her husband, James. In the texts, James randomly dinged his wife to tell her that he had “such a heartwarming story” for her. “And I know you won’t be upset because you’re my amazing, one-in-a-million soulmate,” he wrote. The wife braced herself with a simple, two-word answer: “Oh boy.” Her husband, a teacher, then launched into a story about one of his students, who had been coming to class every day wearing only a hoodie and sneakers. The weather was getting colder, but the kid had no jacket or boots. The teacher grew concerned. “I didn’t think much of it the first time, but it’s an everyday thing now, so I asked him to stay after class because I’m worried,” he wrote. “It’s freezing outside and he could get sick.” A Family in Trouble After class that day, James learned how the student was facing some hard times. He was living with his grandfather, who was retired. Their only income was a small pension, so the student had started working at Chick-fil-A while juggling school. With his income, they were barely able to cover rent, food, and bills. “So, I’m currently at his place waiting for him and his grandpa to get ready so I can take them shopping for clothes and groceries,” James continued in the texts. “And I took $800 from our trip budget so we can only go for 6 instead of 8 days. I’m sorry I didn’t tell you but I didn’t even think about it, I just knew I had to help.” Taking money out of the account without talking about it first wasn't the best move. But, James obviously knew his wife. She wasn’t even slightly angry and had an even more surprising reaction. “We’ll talk when I get home, but I am so proud of you,” she wrote. “See if they have anyone to spend Christmas with, if not we always have room for two more.” Putting People First The texts resonated with so many people on the social media platform because they exemplified kindness and selflessness. This couple had saved their money for a trip that they were probably really looking forward to. But they cut it short in order to help someone else who had way less than they did. “This is such pure, wholesome kindness,” one person wrote in the comments. “For as lousy as things are these days, there are still good people. There will always be good people,” wrote another. By sharing this story, this woman inspired others to give back in their own lives and in their own ways. These texts remind us that sometimes we need to lean on others, and other times we need to be the people who are offering a post to lean on. Whether that means re-evaluating your own financial situation and seeing how you too can help someone in need, or adding a few extra groceries to your shopping cart to donate to the local food bank, there are plenty of ways to help out. Time, donations, and even just being an ear for someone else can go a long way. It doesn’t matter how you do your part, so long as we all remember to put people, and not things, first. Ryan Goslings Secret to Success? Its Simple, Sharing the Spotlight With the Girl of His Dreams

Ryan Gosling, 43, and Eva Mendes, 49, may not have made a public appearance together since 2012, but don't let that fool you. The couple who share daughters Esmeralda Amada, 9, and Amada Lee, 7, are going stronger than ever—and their secret to a balanced relationship is...Ryan's busy work schedule?Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes Met Over 13 Years Ago Ryan Gosling is best known for his performances in romances like The Notebook and Crazy, Stupid, Love—but little did the actor know his most life changing role would be for his lesser known filmThe Place Beyond the Pines. His performance may not have earned him flashy any awards but what he took home was so much better.During the shooting of the 2012 Crime-Thriller, Ryan worked alongside the woman who would become his partner for life—Eva Mendes.Though Eva insists this isn't your typical Hollywood love story! Most assumed the two met on set of The Place Beyond The Pines, but Eva posted a clip of their on-screen meet cute with this cryptic caption: "Magic is Real. We did not meet on set. The magic started way before but here’s a little magic captured on camera."Still, 2011 was a big year for Gosling and Mendes. They started off the year as co-stars and ended up tying the knot in a secret wedding ceremony! They Kept Their Marriage Under Wraps—Over A Decade Later It Paid OffThe exact date they exchanged "I do's" is unclear the public wasn't even sure if Gosling and Mendes were even married at all. But during a 2022 interview, Eva set the record straight. The Hitch actress spilled she and Ryan had instant chemistry—and a short engagement! While the couple themselves weren't entirely sure if they were legally married—they confirmed the ceremony and sentiment was exactly the same.Other than Eva's sweet instagram tributes to her husband, very little is known about their relationship. Both stars are A-Listers in their own right so the couple prefers to keep their private life private. Something we can all respect.Still, Gosling—who's the more "public figure" of the two—has never shied away from sharing the spotlight with his woman, even if she's not beside him to bask in it.Recently, Ryan attended the Santa Barbara International Film Festival where he received the Kirk Douglas Award for Excellence in Film. While accepting an award for his latest film, Gosling took the opportunity to gush about Mendes, calling her his "dream girl." "Most importantly, I got to meet the girl of my dreams, Eva Mendes, and have two dream children."He continued: "I dreamed of making movies and now movies have made my life a dream," before concluding with: "No way I have contributed half as much to cinema as cinema has given to me."She's Eva! He's Just KenHis latest role as Ken in Barbie (2023) may not be his most challenging, but it's definitely been the most pressing...so to speak. For A-List actors, the job isn't done when the lights go down and the set gets packed up. A big part of the job are press circuits, in hopes of marketing the film to audiences...and with Barbie's 150M dollar marketing budget? The real job was off-camera.But even though Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes have a pact to not bring their home life to work (the couple haven't made a public appearance since 2012) Gosling did the next best thing. He found the perfect way to have a piece of Eva with him on the red carpet. In a sweet tribute to his wife, Gosling sported an "E" necklace during the Barbie premiere. The media was quick to connect the dots—and they couldn't get enough!Even though it may seem like a dream come true to exchange jokes with Jimmy Fallon all night—like any job, what's shiny in the beginning can dull overtime. All that traveling can be exhausting, especially if like Ryan, you're the kind of person whose idea of a great night is being at home with your wife and kids instead of at a party. So when Gosling accepted the Kirk Douglas Award at SBFF he was sure to make a toast to his "dream girl" and thank her for giving him his "dream life."Ahead of his award, the Film Festival Executive applauded Gosling as a true talent, commending him for being “both a dramatic and comedic force in front of the camera."But none of that would be possible without Eva.Thanking His Wife, FirstRyan Gosling is one A-Lister the critics and the audiences can't get enough of, but his busy work schedule is only possible because of the woman behind him—and he never forgets it.When Gosling won the Golden Globe Award for his performance in La La Land (2017), he opened his acceptance speech with a witty one-liner: "this isn't the first time I've been mistaken for Ryan Reynolds", he quipped, making the audience laugh. But with only so much time to say his speech, it didn't take long for the Notebook actor to get real."You don't get to be up here without standing on the shoulders of a mountain of people. There's just no time to thank everyone, but I just want to try thank one person properly." Gosling said."While I was singing and dancing and playing piano and having one of the best experiences I've ever had on a film, my lady [Eva] was raising our daughter, pregnant with our second, and trying to help her brother fight his battle with cancer. If she hadn't taken all that on so I could have this experience, it would surely be someone else up here other than me today." Ryan Gosling, Golden Globe Acceptance Speech (2017)He ended his speech by looking into the camera sincerely and delivery a sweet closing sentiment."Sweetheart, thank you. To my daughters, Amada and Esmeralda, I love you. And if I may I'd like to dedicate this [award] to the memory of her brother Juan Carlos Mendez."True to character, his words weren't just romantic...they were powerful too.You Can Watch Ryan's Full Speech Below:Appreciating the Loved Ones We Have and the Life We GotSure, being a celebrity seems great (and it probably is). Still, going away for months at a time to shoot in remote locations for long hours on different time schedules may not be the easiest thing for a relationship. (Yes, the fat paycheck makes it easier). But family man Ryan Gosling reminds us that sometimes the experiences that could tear us apart are the same experiences that can bring us together and make us closer than ever. The more opportunities we have to show up for our loved ones, the truer and stronger our love becomes. Through thick and thing, good and bad, richer or poorer—all these messy human experiences build and strengthen the foundation of our relationships. So, let's all tip our hats to the fantastic Ryan Reynolds (kidding)!

99-Year-Old Woman Becomes Brutally Honest About Her Secret to Living a Long Life

People are always trying to find the holy grail of living a long and healthy life. We're told to eat more meat. Eat less meat. Don't ever eat meat. We're told to eat full-fat dairy. Eat non-fat dairy. Why are you eating DAIRY? You name it and guaranteed there is contradictory evidence out there to tell you that whatever it is you're doing, you're doing it wrong. But finally, one woman seems to have figured out the secret to living a long life and luckily for us, it's NOT kale. 99-Year-Old's Key to Longevity 99-year-old Mildred Kirschenbaum is just shy of turning 100. She's literally been around longer than sliced bread. (Just in case you want to know, the first automatically sliced commercial loaves were produced on July 6, 1928). And while she may be tapping on centenarian's door, she still lives alone, drives, and never misses a happy hour. So what does she credit to making it this far? It's all about attitude. In a reel that her daughter, Gayle, 60, shared on both her TikTok and Instagram accounts, Kirschenbaum gets brutally honest about the importance of attitude. And she's not taking any prisoners. Including her friends. Attitude Is Everything @gaylekirschenbaum #attitude #100yearsold #wisewords #lookatusnowmotherdocumentary ♬ original sound - gaylekirschenbaum "I want to share a thought about attitude," she begins in the clip that's garnered more than 2 million views. "I will be 100 years old in August. It's only a couple of months away, and yet I have friends who are 20 years younger, 15 years younger — and their attitudes are going to cause them to not survive to my age." (Obviously, she has no issue with telling it like she sees it.) She blames her friends' lack of gratitude "for anything," for sending them to an early grave. She says that they complain about everything, from only seeing their kids once a week to the food they're served. "Their attitude is not acceptable." Instead of focusing on the negative, Kirschenbaum believes you have to flip the script and reframe your mindset. "If the food isn't quite right, so, have an extra dessert." Which, I gotta say, is solid advice. If the key to living a longer life is eating more dessert, sign me up! "If you hear from your children once a week, that's fine. They call you once a week, you call them once a week. And be grateful that they are enjoying life." She sums it up in just a few words, saying: "Look at the positive side of life. I think that’s what got me this far." Mildred Kirschenbaum And while Kirschenbaum's daughter hasn't always seen eye-to-eye with her mother, she does agree with her on this. Gayle, a forgiveness coach, captions her mother's reel on Instagram with, "Our attitude, our mindset, our thoughts affect our actions and our actions create our life. Focus on what you have in life. Not what you don’t." Obviously, the apple doesn't fall too far from the tree. Think Positively and Enjoy Life In addition to Kirschenbaum's "attitude is everything" philosophy, the 99-year-old also believes that you need to genuinely enjoy life. In an interview with Fox News, she shares, "You’ve got to enjoy life. You’re only walking through it once." "If you're up there in years, do yourself — not your children, not your friends, not your world — YOURSELF, a favor: Enjoy everything. Don't sit home and moan and groan and say, ‘All I do is walk to the refrigerator.’ Do something." For Kirshenbaum that something means playing bridge or canasta with friends, embracing technology, texting her loved ones on her iPhone, going to the gym to do a 20-minute recumbent bike workout, and hitting up her community clubhouse for happy hour. It also means going beyond the surface; seeking forgiveness from her daughter for her failings as a mother, and finding peace and forgiveness for herself. Poor Man Who Hadnt Eaten in a Week Delivers Womans Food - When She Opens Her Door, He Makes an Unusual Request

Life doesn't always go as planned. And sometimes, despite our best efforts, we find ourselves facing unforeseen challenges. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit the global job market, it hit hard, leaving millions unemployed and struggling to make ends meet. Including engineer, Sahil Singh. After losing his job and moving back home to Jammu, India, Sahil, desperate for work, took the only job he could find — working as a delivery driver for Swiggy (the Indian equivalent of Uber Eats.)Unfortunately, his paycheck wasn't enough to cover his basic expenses. Despite putting food on his customers' tables, he was unable to put food on his own. That is until a compassionate stranger and the power of social media changed his life. The LinkedIn Post That Changed EverythingThe day Sahil met Priyanshi Chandel he was nearing rock-bottom. He was living off of water and tea and hadn't eaten in a week. He was in debt, unable to pay his rent, and couldn't afford transportation, forcing him to deliver his orders on foot.By the time he walked over 2 miles to deliver Priyanshi her ice cream order, he was spent. Nearly 40 minutes after placing her order, Priyanshi opened the door to discover an exhausted Sahil, "panting for air, sitting on the staircase outside my flat."Shocked by his appearance and with her internal alarm bells blaring, she asked him what happened.Sahil didn't hold back. He told her everything — that he was broke, starving, and didn't even have a bike to do his deliveries. But despite being penniless, he wasn't looking for hand-outs. What he was looking for was a job."You might think am just bluffing, but I am a fully educated ECE grad, I used to work at Ninjacart, BYJU'S before I went home to Jammu during covid," he told her before launching into a desperate plea for help. "I am not asking for anything, please if you can find me a job, I used to make 25K before, I am 30 years old, my parents are getting old and I can’t keep asking for money from them.” Priyanshi, moved by his story, decided to share his plight on LinkedIn alongside his contact information and photos of his degree and credentials. A product marketing manager for StrategyCo Global, Priyanshi knew the power of networking.“If someone has any openings for an office boy, admin work, customer support etc., please help a fellow out!” she wrote. “I’m not sure whether his plea was absolutely genuine or not, but the least we could do is try. Please do like and repost so that it reaches more people in your network.”Her post went viral. The Power of a Supportive CommunityPriyanshi's post reached thousands of people, garnering more than 17K likes and nearly 500 shares. And her faith in the networking platform paid off. Five days after posting she added an update: "UPDATE: He got a job!!! Thanks everyone who came forward, y’all are awesome 😃Turning off the comments to avoid spam. :)"So often we forget the difference that just one person can make. We lose sight of the impact of a simple act of kindness, a helping hand extended to someone in need. We tend to close our eyes and our ears to those who are struggling, thinking we can't do anything tangible to help. But Priyanshi's willingness to listen, to share his story, and to use her network for good demonstrates the incredible power of compassion and community. The reality is, we could all be Sahil. Our circumstances could change in an instant. After all, nothing in life is certain. But hopefully, should that happen, there will be people like Priyanshi who are willing to take the time and effort to help a stranger in need. Maybe that person is you.More from Goalcast: Woman Hears Amazon Delivery Driver at the Door – Then, the Doorbell Camera Catches the “Warning” She GaveParents Hear Amazon Delivery Driver at the Door – Are Shocked When the Doorbell Camera Catches Her Doing This

Man Is Forced to Sell His Car to Pay For Wifes Treatment Is in Disbelief When He Finds Out What His Family Has Planned for Him

Having nice things can make you feel good, but at the end of the day, what truly matters is that we have people we love and care about in our lives. Still, when someone is asked to sacrifice something in order to be with their loved ones in good health, it can be hard. That was the situation one man was put in two decades ago when his wife was diagnosed with cancer.A Hard GoodbyeYouTube/ABC NewsYears ago, Wesley Ryan learned his wife, Laura, had been diagnosed with ovarian cancer. The medical bills were piling up, and he knew in order to continue making ends meet, he would have to sell his beloved car: a 1993 Ford Mustang GT.Wesley loved that car and even nicknamed it Christine, based on the 1958 Plymouth Fury from Stephen King’s book, Christine. However, Laura meant more to him, and Wesley wanted her to continue getting the care she needed. So he handed over the keys.“I know how much it broke him in half seeing that car drive away from him,” his son, Jake, wrote on Facebook back in 2018, as per Today. “A day I’ll never forget.”Kids Work to Make It RightJake and his sister, Jeni, knew they wanted to help their dad reunite with the car he’d loved so much when they were younger. So they started an online search and surprisingly, they were able to track down the old car online. It had been 17 years, but the VIN matched. The siblings had saved up enough money over the years, knowing they would one day get their dad back his car. So when they found it, they, along with Jeni’s boyfriend Julian Valdez, put their money together and purchased it.They surprised their dad in the parking lot of a Kohl’s near where they lived in San Antonio, Texas. Laura, cancer-free for 13 years at the time, joined them for the big reveal.“Coming home surprising my pops was a feeling and moment I’ll never forget,” Jake wrote. “To see his face and emotion made it all worth it.”A Priceless ReactionWesley was moved to tears and couldn’t find the words as he approached his beloved vehicle. Jake posted a video online with a rendition of Zac Brown’s “My Old Man” playing in the background.“A day I’ll never forget. Well ... She’s back home, pops, and here to stay this time. Looking forward to building this car with you this time instead of being in a booster seat looking out the window,” the son wrote. The video was so touching that Ford even found out about it. And, when the car company learned that “Christine” had experienced some wear and tear over the years, it decided to step in. It gave the car a new engine, transmission, paint job, interior, and even a few extra modern features. Then, Ford had the family come out to Michigan, where Wesley was presented with the finished product.“It's still her, but she's got a new heart,” Wesley told NBC4 San Antonio. “I don't know, I'm at a loss for words. It's beautiful.”Remembering What Matters MostThis story is so beautiful because it shows the sacrifice one man made for his family and how his family stepped up to repay him in the sweetest way possible. The day Wesley said farewell to his car, he had made peace with the fact that he would probably never see it again. So long as he had his family, he was good. It’s a nice reminder that at the end of the day, material things are great and all, but they aren’t what truly matter. Family — even a chosen family — is what will bring you joy, comfort, and memories as the years carry on.Still, this story is also a sweet reminder that sometimes it’s nice to do something for someone when they least expect it. Wesley and Laura obviously raised their children to be thoughtful and generous, and in the end, they wanted to show their dad how much his sacrifice meant to them. While we can’t always lavish the people we love and care about with expensive gifts, we can tell them and show them how much they mean to us. Pick up the phone, send that text, or write a card to let them know you’re thinking about them. After all, no one ever regrets showing up for those who matter to us while we still can.More from Goalcast:Boy Has to Take Care of Little Sister After Mom Abandons Them – Years Later, Kelly Clarkson Has a Big Surprise in StoreWoman’s Dad Passed Away in an Accident – 13 Years Later, She Discovers a Surprising List Written by Him at Her HouseRecently Widowed Woman Struggles to Provide for Her Young Son – Then, a Stranger Gifts Her a Brand New Car
